Jennifer Reed brings both her passion for wellness and preventative health to you in a kind and motivating manner. She began Fit & Free, LLC after recognizing a need in her own family as well as the aging population she treated as a physical therapist. There was a greater sense of empathy when she saw her parents' physical abilities begin to decline as well as a great sense of urgency to help them. Jennifer's mother mentioned she was having difficulty getting up from a kneeling position. Out of curiosity, Jennifer administered a balance test, and the results alarmed her when she saw her mother was almost in a "fall risk" category. Knowing this could lead to a potential injury, she began helping her mother increase her strength and balance. When she re-tested her mother in 6 weeks, she passed with flying colors! Most importantly, her mother felt a great relief and increased confidence in her strength and balance.
Jennifer's clients, like her mother, did not initially notice their decreasing balance and strength nor did they realize something could be done to improve their day to day function. After working with Jennifer, they are thrilled to enjoy everyday activities with increased physical strength but more importantly are pleased they have a reduced risk of falling.
Jennifer earned her bachelor's degree from Baylor University and her Master of Physical Therapy degree from Southwest Baptist University. She has over 17 years of experience working to improve strength, balance, and endurance as a licensed Physical Therapist. As a PT, Jennifer has gained experience working with diverse diagnoses and medical conditions. She is able to apply this knowledge to your individual needs as she custom tailors your specialized fitness program. Jennifer does not provide physical therapy services at Fit & Free, LLC. She continues to practice physical therapy with patients referred by physicians in a hospital based clinic setting.
Jennifer became a Certified Senior Fitness Specialist (American Council on Exercise) and a Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance™ Instructor to access the aging adult population she is passionate about helping. This allows her to work with both pre and post-rehabilitation clients as well. Jennifer values the safety of her clients and as a result will create a fitness program unique to each individual to enhance their ability to complete everyday activities.
The golden years should shine, and Jennifer is honored to help you reach all of your goals in improving your life! This is your time to enjoy life, not merely endure life!
